To reverse this increasing trend, it is important to recognize the social, economic, linguistic, and cultural barriers that hinder the prevention and treatment efforts for HIV when developing an outreach strategy.

This report highlights projects found to offer highly effective (and replicable) approaches to integrating buprenorphine-based medication-assisted treatment into HIV/AIDS primary care.
