Staff will present a population-based, data-driven approach to the Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) funding designed to improve program engagement and retention to reduce health disparities and maximize health outcomes. This workshop will describe how the Los Angeles Area AETC developed an inter-professional practice (IPP) program with the Charles Drew NP program, USC’s School of Pharmacy, UCLA’s School of Medicine, and the West LA’s psychiatric residency program -- along with five Ryan White clinics -- to help develop the next generation of HIV teams.

All RWHAP recipients and providers will experience an increase in their aging population and will need to respond. This session will give a firsthand perspective on aging with HIV, provide an overview of RWHAP aging data, summarize medical conditions and psychosocial needs facing aging clients, and review HRSA initiatives.
