This workshop will describe how the Los Angeles Area AETC developed an inter-professional practice (IPP) program with the Charles Drew NP program, USC’s School of Pharmacy, UCLA’s School of Medicine, and the West LA’s psychiatric residency program -- along with five Ryan White clinics -- to help develop the next generation of HIV teams.

Three case studies about success strategies needed for different regional recipients: the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Part A programs of Dallas, Texas, and Paterson, N.J. Each program will detail how it used an online evidenced-based approach to improve its response to the epidemic.

Part B, Part A, and the Minnesota Council for HIV/AIDS Care and Prevention collaborated to conduct a needs assessment of people with HIV. We facilitated meetings with various stakeholders to gain consensus on questions to include. It’s important to have strong project management, delegate responsibilities, and plan carefully.

Assessment of needs of people with HIV through broad-based community engagement is a tenet of the Ryan White planning process. The Baltimore EMA Planning Council developed a status-neutral survey targeting 1,100 persons. Modified Data Mapping supported community-based survey development by simplifying complex processes and creating transparent iterative processes of stakeholder engagement.

This session will educate recipients on the protections of the Americans with Disabilities Act, so as to better inform and advise clients with HIV (as well as Opioid Use Disorder) on their rights to be free from HIV discrimination, in furtherance of the national goal of eradicating stigma and discrimination.

However, we leave the discussion of spiritual beliefs out of our treatment plans and leadership directives. Join us as we explore the connections among trauma, recovery, health, and spirituality, and learn ways to transform our practices and programs.

Given rising HIV diagnoses within the Latinx community, this presentation provides a holistic primer on patient-centered care for Latinx folks, de-emphasizing the ‘one size fits all' approach by considering the diversity and cultural nuances within the community. Presentation of a mixed-methods needs assessment to inform a multi-site evaluation plan for a HRSA Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS) project to improve bacterial STI screening, testing, and treatment among people with or at risk for HIV will be presented, including findings, selected evidence-based interventions, and a proposed multi-site evaluation plan.

This session highlights specific HRSA and CDC resources used to reduce HIV-related stigma in rural areas and a recipient's best practices to reduce stigma in the healthcare setting to improve clients' health outcomes and quality of life.
