Staff will present a population-based, data-driven approach to the Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) funding designed to improve program engagement and retention to reduce health disparities and maximize health outcomes. Presenters will review methods to facilitate replication of the model in other Ryan White programs.

HIV care measures for people with HIV enrolled in the Massachusetts AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) were compared to people with HIV not currently enrolled; results indicate that enrollees have higher frequencies of engagement and retention in care and viral suppression. Evaluation of the data provides insight that enhances programming and service delivery to reduce health disparities.

The STAR Program, a Ryan White Part C program, initiated a 30-minute, weekly televised TV health magazine that engages the community across multiple social media and television platforms with a focus on health particularly HIV treatment and Prevention, reaching young adults. Three case studies about success strategies needed for different regional recipients: the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Part A programs of Dallas, Texas, and Paterson, N.J. Each program will detail how it used an online evidenced-based approach to improve its response to the epidemic.

The HIV Prevention Certified Provider (PCP) program is an online, self-paced CME curriculum composed of five free e-learning courses in HIV prevention. Clinicians who complete the curriculum receive the HIV PCP national designation and certificate, recognizing competency in the clinical and cultural aspects of HIV prevention services, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

Community health care workers (CHWs) represent the voice of the community and play a vital role in linkage and retention to care. DC Health piloted three innovative care models to strategically ensure the community's voice is permanently embedded in HIV services.
