Reaching and engaging rural populations in care and treatment is critical to ending the HIV epidemic. Engaging the community and including faith institutions are key to improve access to care, treatment, and adherence. This session will highlight how three projects are working with implementing partners in the rural South.

The session will discuss lessons learned from the Rhode Island's path to the AIDS Drugs Assistance Program (ADAP) automation through the implementation of the Lifia Portal. Oklahoma has been classified by the Department of Health and Human Services as one of the seven states with a high rural HIV burden. Test-and-treat protocols are feasible within high-volume HIV clinics which serve rural and underserved communities to minimize the time to the first appointment to decrease time to viral load suppression.

Staff from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and CRI will present the fundamentals, best practices, and innovations for their clinical quality management (CQM) program that aimed to improve timely enrollment and retention in the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP). The presentation will include an overview of the transition to self-attestation and how organizational change supported a quality-driven approach.

This workshop will highlight the AIDS Education Training Centers' (AETC) Core Training activities from 2016 through 2019, focusing on types of providers reached, priority training topics, and training modalities. Two AETCs will share experiences engaging rural jurisdictions with low-volume HIV providers and approaches for reaching providers in the Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative jurisdictions.

Ryan White Part B fiscal monitors in Texas developed processes and tools to identify, track, and report program income generated through the 340B program and other sources of revenue. Tools include a spending plan template and an allocation worksheet, which will be shared with other RWHAP recipients in this workshop.
