This workshop will share youth-tailored innovative approaches, such as integrated mental health and clinical nutrition services for peer support, facilitated transportation conducted by case managers via a rideshare program for youth clients, and a grading system to assess individual readiness and help guide transition to adult care.

These include apps, telemedicine, social media, and texting services that meet clients where they are and provide access to services. Managing the needs of people with HIV can be difficult and intensive. The importance of caring for oneself is often overlooked by program staff and can threaten their well-being. Staff who provide non-medical case management and assistance in finding employment and housing were interviewed to determine key areas of concern.

Implementing trauma-informed principles in a meaningful way is a critical component to ending the HIV epidemic. This institute will begin with an overview of the impact of trauma and chronic stress and then move into implementing trauma-informed principles, including the importance of staff and organizational health.
