Establishing an Emergency Department Opt-Out HIV Screening Program: Preliminary Results and Response to Lessons Learned
Establishing an opt-out HIV screening program in the emergency department has almost quadrupled HIV screening rates and has identified new and out-of-care cases. Using Shared Measures among the AQMG to Increase Retention-In-Care among Alabama's Ryan White Clinics
The Alabama Quality Management Group (AQMG) is a consortium of quality leaders representing all Alabama RWHAP Part C and D clinics, over 80% of Alabama's HIV-diagnosed population. Data for Care Alabama (D4C-AL), a CDC-funded retention-in-care project, uses risk-stratification based on missed visits. It is currently being implemented at one site but will continue to be implemented over time.

Collaborations among AETCs, Emergency Departments, and Health Jurisdictions to Identify and Treat HIV, HCV, and Syphilis
This interactive workshop will review updated data and discuss implementation challenges, facilitators, and best practices for routine screening/linkage in an emergency department with urban and rural challenges. Preliminary data from the initial two months (with more than 2,000 patients screened) include .7% HIV (including three acute infections), 7% Hepatitis C (HCV) and 5.2% syphilis.

Providing HIV Services to People Who Are Incarcerated
The Maricopa Jail Project was implemented by five jails to decrease the wait time between incarceration and/or diagnosis to the start of treatment, and to better support clients to reach viral suppression. Maricopa hired a nurse practitioner to manage access and case manage across the jail system.
