UCLA Family AIDS Network, a Ryan White Part D recipient, will present its new Women and HIV bilingual education video series covering the topics of mental health and pregnancy. The videos are an educational tool and innovative way organizations can encourage authentic, genuine, and holistic conversations between consumers and providers.

This workshop will describe how the Los Angeles Area AETC developed an inter-professional practice (IPP) program with the Charles Drew NP program, USC’s School of Pharmacy, UCLA’s School of Medicine, and the West LA’s psychiatric residency program -- along with five Ryan White clinics -- to help develop the next generation of HIV teams.

This workshop will explore two sites' (Brooklyn and Detroit) experience with the implementation of an evidence-informed intervention for black men who have sex with men (MSM) with HIV. The project seeks to improve HIV outcomes through the use of a culturally tailored intervention for Black MSM, the Text Messaging Intervention to Improve Antiretroviral Adherence among youth with HIV (TXTXT).

This session will explain how Texas collects gender identity data for people with HIV and will examine disparities in care and health outcomes for transgender Texans living with HIV with an additional focus on the Latinx and black communities in order to understand how to better meet the needs of transgender people with HIV.

Panelists will describe collaborative prevention and support services provided to people with HIV and/or hepatitis from incarceration to re-entry. Services addressing social determinants of health are provided in corrections facilities and upon release. Panelists include the program director, staff from a correctional medical facility, and community-based organizations working inside and outside of correction facilities.

This presentation assesses social determinants that affect the HIV continuum of care. Establish patterns at the economic, demographic, and sociocultural factors that may fragment or, in a worst-case scenario, interrupt access to HIV testing, biomedical prevention, follow-up to a positive diagnosis, and adherence to treatment.

HRSA/HAB guidance on using RWHAP funds to provide services to eligible individuals in prisons, jails, and other correctional systems allows recipients to determine which RWHAP services to provide and for how long. The rate of HIV among people in US prisons is higher than the general population. This workshop will review an evidence-informed intervention to engage people with HIV in the jail setting. Challenges, strategies, and lessons learned will be discussed to support the adaptation and replication of the evidence-informed intervention.

Roots of Health Inequity is a collaborative learning course that can be used by HIV care and treatment providers to address systemic disparities in health and wellness.
