University of Mississippi Medical Center utilized known barriers to care for postpartum women with HIV and leveraged that information to schedule individualized interactions with pregnant and postpartum women with HIV. This low-cost, low-effort initiative resulted in statistically significant improvements in both retention in care and viral suppression rates in postpartum women with HIV.

This session showcases the activities undertaken by the Ryan White Wellness Center in Charleston, South Carolina, that helped eliminate viral suppression disparities among its young men of color who have sex with men.

This sub-study compared viral suppression between SPNS participants and non-participants at the Meharry site. The SPNS study enrolled women of color newly who were recently diagnosed with HIV or lost to care. There was no statistically significant difference in viral suppression after controlling for demographic and clinical factors.

The Alabama Quality Management Group (AQMG) is a consortium of quality leaders representing all Alabama RWHAP Part C and D clinics, over 80% of Alabama's HIV-diagnosed population. Data for Care Alabama (D4C-AL), a CDC-funded retention-in-care project, uses risk-stratification based on missed visits. It is currently being implemented at one site but will continue to be implemented over time.

This presentation discusses results from the HRSA Special Projects of National Significance Evidence-Informed Approaches to Improving Health Outcomes for people with HIV project. The Learners Education and Practice Portal (LEAPP) developed by the MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) at the University of Pittsburgh has an integral role in providing AETCs with quality improvement opportunities through the Six Sigma model of quality improvement.

This workshop will introduce a practical approach for focused and inclusive conversations about evaluation and HIV program outcomes. Motivational interviewing techniques are applied in the program evaluation context, using examples from Ryan White programs. Using motivational interviewing, the evaluator leads the dance in the desired direction while incorporating stakeholder input.

This workshop will provide a game demonstration. The game was developed to address the common scenarios that occur which cause stress and confusion in the battle to weigh client needs against agency ethos and program requirements. The game promotes motivational interviewing skills for problem-solving with consumers and coworkers alike.

No-show rate is a strong and independent predictor of patients falling out of care at the partnership that cares for 1,700 people with HIV in Philadelphia. A pilot study was created to address every no-show event in an effort to prevent patients from falling out of care.

In 2019, the Louisiana AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) partnered with a leading private dental insurer to design a group dental plan modeled after an employer-sponsored plan, specifically tailored to the needs of people with HIV. Both utilization and client satisfaction rose significantly following the adoption of the plan.
